Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have always loved foreign languages.

My passion dates back to when I was a child, when I used to listen to my mother teaching English to first grade children. In my mind, being able to talk and write in a foreign language was some kind of magic.

My curiosity towards languages other than Italian led me to choose one of the two most prestigious faculties in Italy to become a professional translator and interpreter.

After passing a selection test in Italian, French and English, I spent the following four years at the School of Modern Languages for Translators and Interpreters in Forlì, University of Bologna, studying the best techniques of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. I had the chance to learn from top-ranking professional specialists in the fields of Interpreting and Translation and my passion grew stronger as I studied hard to finish all 37 exams.

During my years at university, I also gained a Certificate in Business French, delivered by The Chamber of Commerce of Paris.

After graduating in 2005, my main concern was to find a job as soon as possible, since I wanted to be financially independent and start making some money. That is why, ignoring my inner voice which was telling me I had to become a freelance interpreter, I accepted a job in a Sales Export Department of a company. I soon realized I was not cut out to be an office worker. I had studied so hard for four years, making sacrifices and tremendous efforts to get my degree that I owed it to myself to give it a try and make my dream become reality.

And my dream of owning my translation company did become reality!

In 2008, I was ready for a new adventure and decided to fly to Vancouver, Canada, to attend a full time course to get my CELTA, (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), which is an international teacher training qualification for teaching English as a second or foreign language. I was the only Italian in a group of Canadian people and, despite being very challenging, the experience was thoroughly rewarding, as I learned about different cultures, and also taught English without using Italian, since students came from Russia, China, Mexico, to mention a few.

I love my job.

It keeps my curiosity alive and my mind always hungry. I get to know amazing people from all over the world and every time I translate for them, no matter how complex the field they work in is, I discover anew why it is I do what I do. The magic of it. I become their voice, the invisible bridge that connects them and allows for an efficient and powerful communication.

I enable my clients to feel confident whenever they speak English in international business situations. I become part of their team by analyzing their needs and finding the best solutions to their linguistic problems. The biggest reward for me is when they show me how much they have improved their language skills and fluency, when they tell me they no longer panic when having to speak or understand a foreign language.

Today, I am fully committed to providing excellent translation and interpretation services, together with exclusive intensive English courses for top managers and entrepreneurs.
